Step 1: Send a Membership Application (before May 31st)

Membership selection process takes place only once a year at the MFN, from June to November each year. To be considered in this annual process, please submit membership applications by May 31st. Applications receipt after June will be reviewed in June of the following year.
Step 2: Screening by MFN Director
The MFN Director reviews and selects membership applications that meet membership criteria, and will present membership nominations to the MFN Steering Committee. The Director may ask for complementary information before continuing with the application process.
Step 3: Pre-approval by MFN Steering Committee (in June)
MFN Steering Committee meets three times a year, and at the second meeting of the year (normally in June), they review qualified applicants. In order to maintain diversity among the membership in terms of the kinds of organizations and the regions where they work, the Steering Committee may decide to refuse or postpone an application for membership. If your application has not been accepted, you will be notified.
Step 4: Invitation to the MFN Annual Conference
Pre-approved candidates will be invited to the MFN Annual Conference where the Annual Meeting of the MFN General Assembly takes place (usually in October or November). Please note that, as all the other participants at the conference, the candidates are also asked to cover their own travel expenses and to pay the participation fees.
Step 5: Payment of Membership Dues and Conference Participation Fees
Pre-approved candidates are asked to pay the annual membership dues and the conference participation fees. In case the pre-approved membership did not result in final approval at the General Assembly Meeting, the annual membership dues will be returned.
Step 6: Final Approval by MFN Membership (in November)
At the General Assembly Meeting, present MFN members vote on new membership. Final approval will be based on a majority vote.
